Blade made from Uddeholm Vanadis 8 SuperClean (63 HRC)

This blade is crafted from Uddeholm Vanadis 8 SuperClean, a high-alloy powder metallurgy tool steel hardened to 63 HRC. Thanks to its high carbide content and extremely clean structure, the steel provides outstanding edge retention, aggressive cutting performance, and exceptional wear resistance under long-term load.

The blade features a polished sandblasted finish, creating a uniform matte surface with reduced glare and improved handling for future fitting and finishing work.

Chemical Composition (Vanadis 8 SuperClean)

• C – 2.3% — high hardness & prolonged edge life

• Si – 0.4% — structure stability during heat treatment

• Mn – 0.4% — improved hardenability

• Cr – 4.8% — structure stability & moderate corrosion resistance

• Mo – 3.6% — strength under load, heat resistance

• V – 8.0% — vanadium carbides → aggressive cutting & wear resistance

Result: a steel engineered for maximum working edge performance with a long sharpening interval.
